SAN DIEGO -- Other than one bad pitch, Chicago Cubs left-hander Travis Wood had a pretty good night. Adam Larsson Jersey . Wood came within five outs of pitching his first career shutout before allowing Carlos Quentins pinch-hit, two-run home run, and Chicago held on to beat the San Diego Padres 3-2 Saturday night. Wood (5-4) hit an RBI single and Luis Valbuena homered for the Cubs, who bounced back from an 11-1 loss Friday night. Wood allowed two runs and three hits in 7 1-3 innings, struck out three and walked two. "I felt good all game," Wood said. "I made a bad pitch there to Quentin. I wanted a cutter in, but didnt quite get it all the way in there and he got through it. But other than that everything was working pretty good all game." Quentin, who missed the previous four games with a groin injury, hit an 86 mph pitch an estimated 405 feet off the left-field facade with one out in the eighth to chase Wood. Quentin has five career pinch homers and two in one week. Yasmani Grandal was aboard on a one-out walk. Other than that, "my fastball was locating down and I got some quick outs there," Wood said. "All in all, no complaints other than one pitch, but thats going to happen." Quentin also hit a two-run, pinch homer last Saturday at Colorado. He hurt his groin on Sunday and hadnt played until Saturday nights appearance. "Thats a hard thing to do to pinch-hit -- one of the hardest roles in our game to come off the bench without playing and go step in the batters box against pitcher and hit a home run," manager Bud Black said. "That is hard to do and he has done it twice in a week. "When Carlos does that, that is what we expect," Black said. "He is a dynamic offensive player and our team changes." Problem is, the Padres havent seen much of Quentin this year. He missed the first 39 games after starting the season on the disabled list with a bone bruise in his left knee. "He makes us better," Black said. "Hes arguably our best offensive player each and every night he is in the game." Valbuena extended his hitting streak to eight games when he drove an 88 mph fastball from Billy Buckner into the right field seats with one out in the sixth. It was his third. Nate Schierholtz doubled to right with two outs. The Padres intentionally walked Darwin Barney to get to Wood, who singled up the middle to drive in Schierholtz. Valbuena also scored in the fourth, reaching on a walk, advancing on Welington Castillos single and coming in on Schierholtzs base hit. Hector Rondon pitched the ninth for his sixth save in seven chances. Buckner (0-1) started in place of Andrew Cashner, who is on the disabled list with a sore right elbow. Buckners contract was purchased earlier Saturday from Triple-A El Paso. He allowed three runs and six hits in 5 2-3 innings, struck out four and walked three. NOTES: In a pregame ceremony, the Padres honoured first responders involved in fighting last weeks wildfires. The players and coaches formed two lines in the outfield and greeted the first responders as they walked in from the warning track. ... Manchester, England (SportsNetwork. Jonathan Allen Jersey .com) - David Silva scored a pair of goals for Manchester City on Saturday to lead the club to a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium, moving City level on 39 points at the top of the table with Chelsea. City entered the match woefully short on options at striker with Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic all out on Saturday. But Silva stepped up and filled the void by scoring in the 49th and 61st minutes before Yaya Toure capped the scoring nine minutes from time to hand City its eighth successive win in all competitions. A patient approach from the home side still yielded decent chances in the first half, but it wasnt until after the break that Silva fired his team in front. Pablo Zabaleta did some good work to get into the penalty area and drop the ball off for Silva, whose first-time shot took a wicked deflection on its way past goalkeeper Julian Speroni. Silva was at it again just after the hour mark when he arrived in front of goal to redirect a low cross from Aleksandar Kolarov past Speroni. James McArthur thought he had pulled a goal back for the visitors when he headed the ball past Joe Hart in the City net, only for it to be ruled out for offsides. Toure put the finishing touches on the win in the 81st minute when he took control of the ball from James Milner and smashed a shot off the post and into the net. Manchester United dropped seven points back of City after being held to a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa. Christian Benteke put Villa ahead in the 18th minute, while Radamel Falcao found the equalizer eight minutes into the second half for United. Gabriel Agbonlahor was sent off 25 minutes from time for a late challenge on Ashley Young, but the hosts held on for one point. West Ham remains in fourth place after notching a 2-0 home win over Leicester City thanks to goals from Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing. Sung-Yueng Kis 15th-minute goal was enough to lead Swansea City past Hull City, 1-0, leaving the Tigers two points from safety, while Southampton handed Everton a 3-0 defeat behind second-half goals from Graziano Pelle and Maya Yoshida. QPR rallied from two goals down against West Bromwich to record a 3-2 win as Charlie Austin scored a hat trick, moving Rangers two points clear of the drop zone. Saturdays other fixture saw Tottenham claim a 2-1 win at home over Burnley as Erik Lamela struck the winning goal in the 36th minute for Spurs, dropping Burnley into the bottom three. Colt McCoy Jersey . on the 15-day disabled Monday list because of a strained right hamstring. Vernon Davis Jersey .com) - The Minnesota Twins made it official on Wednesday, announcing the signing of outfielder Torii Hunter to a one-year contract.TORONTO - The postponed NHL game between the Buffalo Sabres and Carolina Hurricanes from Tuesday night has been rescheduled for Feb. 25 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo. Oklahoma City, OK (SportsNetwork. Tom Brady Jersey .com) - Mike Conley scored 20 points with five assists to help the Memphis Grizzlies remain unbeaten with a 91-89 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday. Courtney Lee tallied 17 points and Zach Randolph deposited 16 points with seven rebounds for Memphis, which continued the best start in franchise with a sixth straight win. (The Thunder) have good players, Grizzlies coach David Joerger said. Thats a good team and were lucky to get out of here with the win. Reggie Jackson led the depleted Thunder with 22 points, Jeremy Lamb scored 17 and Steven Adams registered 13 points with 11 rebounds. Oklahoma City, which had won three straight regular season home games in the series, has dropped three straight overall since a 102-91 win over Denver. I really dont think there is a team out there better than us, Jackson said. I dont care who we have. I thought we would be on the other side of this one tonight. In a rematch of last seasons first round playoff series that the Thunder won in seven games, Memphis led for the entire game until late in the fourth. Lamb followed Jacksons successful runner with a 3-pointer that tied the game at 81-81 with 4:09 to play. Lee and Conley then each hit a trey around a Jackson jumper to give the Grizzlies an 87-83 advantage. Nick Collison found Serge Ibaka, who ended with 16 points, for a 3 preceding Jacksons triple that gave the hosts their only lead with 53.1 seconds remaining. Conley responded with a 3-pointer for a 90-89 margin on the next Memphis possession. After an empty possession from each team, Oklahoma City was whistled for a five-second turnover on the inbounds, but Lee only made 1-of-2 from the stripe with just three seconds on the clock. Out of a timeout, Ibaka ran through the lane, received the inbounds and was long on the potential game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer. The Grizzlies led 22-19 after one quarter and led by as many as nine in the second, taking a 49-40 lead at the break. Memphis couldnt shake the pesky Thunder as it took a 66-62 lead into the fourth. Game Notes After suffering a knee contusion in Oklahoma Citys loss to the Raptors, Perry Jones missed the contest ... Memphis scored 17 points off 20 Oklahoma City turnovers ... The Thunder outscored their opponent 16-6 in second-chance points ... Marc Gasol finished with eight points, nine rebounds and a game- high three blocks in the win ...The Grizzlies went 9-for-18 from beyond the arc. Devin McCourty Jersey .com) - James Harden had 32 points, including a tying layup late in regulation, and the Houston Rockets scored eight of their 13 points in overtime at the foul line to beat the Memphis Grizzlies 117-111 on Friday night. New England Patriots Jerseys . Coach Jorge Sampaoli resisted naming any major surprises in the list published Tuesday at the site of Chiles football association. Chile is pinning its hopes on the recovery of Vidal.ST. LOUIS -- Adrian Gonzalez hit a tiebreaking single in the ninth inning off St. Louis Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal and the Los Angeles Dodgers salvaged the finale of a three-game series with a 4-3 victory on Sunday night. The Dodgers pulled into a virtual tie for first place with San Francisco in the NL West despite a so-so outing from Clayton Kershaw, whose run of seven straight starts allowing one or fewer runs came to an end. Yasiel Puig did not play after getting hit by a pitch on the left hand a day earlier and the Dodgers finished without Hanley Ramirez, who was taken out in the ninth -- also after getting struck on the left hand. Gonzalez leads the National League with 38 road RBIs. He missed a chance earlier, flying out with the bases loaded to end the fourth. J.P Howell (2-3) got the last out in the eighth and Kenley Jansen finished for his 28th save in 31 chances. Rosenthal (1-5) struggled pitching on the third consecutive day after earning saves the first two games. Peter Bourjos two-run homer off Kershaw tied it in the sixth. Kershaw gave up three runs in seven innings, ending an equally impressive streak of winning eight straight starts. He lost his previous four starts in St. Louis, the last two in the NLCS. Manager Don Mattingly said before the game that he had no doubt that bitterness lingered from Game 6 last fall when Kershaw was tagged for seven runs in four innings and the Dodgers were eliminated. Kershaw was booed before flying out to end the sixtth, a byproduct of dueling hit batsmen two innings earlier. James Develin Jersey. Both benches were warned after Carlos Martinez drilled Hanley Ramirez in the shoulder and Matt Holliday was plunked by Kershaw leading off the bottom half. Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier had consecutive two-out RBI singles in the third to put the Dodgers up 3-1. The highlight of the Dodgers fruitless fourth was Kershaws first career stolen base -- his first attempt, too. Kershaw was running on a 1-1 pitch in the dirt and took second without a play with two outs and they loaded the bases before Adrian Gonzalez, who leads the National League with 37 road RBIs, flied out. Shelby Miller had made 50 consecutive starts over two seasons before entering in the sixth, and he was taken out after the first two Dodgers reached in the seventh. Coming out of the All-Star break, Miller was moved to the bullpen. NOTES: The Cardinals have a day off Monday before beginning a two-game interleague series against the Rays. Ace Adam Wainwright (12-4, 1.83) is set for Tuesday against Jake Odorizzi (5-8, 4.01) and manager Mike Matheny is undecided on a starter for Wednesday. ... Hyun-Jin Ryu (10-5, 3.44) starts for the Dodgers Monday against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Edinson Volquez (8-6, 3.65). Ryu is 6-2 with a 2.75 ERA on the road and 7-2 with a 2.88 ERA in nine starts against the NL Central. ... BRISBANE, Australia -- With the Fanatics in bright yellow and raucously chanting for Lleyton Hewitt to stay on top of Roger Federer, the Brisbane International final had the surreal feel of a journey back in time. Josh Bynes Jersey . It wouldnt have seemed out of context a decade ago, when Hewitt spent 80 weeks atop the tennis rankings and Federer was yet to win a Grand Slam title. But Hewitts 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 win Sunday over his longest-standing rival on tour was clearly an upset, and delivered him his first title since 2010. The 32-year-old former No. 1s have met 27 times dating back to 1999, and Hewitt has now improved his record to nine wins against the 17-time Grand Slam champion. Federer was broken three times and committed 22 unforced errors in the first set, making some uncharacteristically basic mistakes including an air swing and two shanked forehands. He recovered in the second set and then had break-point chances in Hewitts first three service games in the deciding set, but couldnt get the vital breakthrough when he needed it most. "The way you tough it out ... congratulations," Federer said in a court-side interview. He added later that Hewitt did "a good job hanging around," "But I should have taken advantage already earlier, so I have some regrets," he said. "Its unfortunately one of those matches that got away from me." In the mens doubles event, Torontos Daniel Nestor and partner Mariusz Fyrstenberg came back from a set down to defeat Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah of Colombia 6-7(4), 6-4, 10-7. The victory gives Nestor his 82nd career ATP World Tour trophy, and marks the 21st consecutive season in which the 41-year-old has captured at least one title. It also brings his record in finals to 82-53. Hewitt received the trophy from Australian great Rod Laver, a regular at the Australian Open final presentations involving Federer over the years. "Its been a while since I won a trophy. For me to get it from you really means a lot," Hewitt said. "I dont need to congratulate Roger, he gets congratulated every week when hes up here for finals!" Hewitt had not won a title since he beat Federer in the final at Halle in 2010 and his most recent tournament victory on home soil was the 2005 Sydney International; the same year he lost the Australian Open decider to Marat Safin. That result at Halle ended a 15-match losing streak to Federer. Now he has won two of their past three matches in the twilight of an injury-affected career that peaked when he won the 2001 U.S. Open and 2002 Wimbledon titles. Federer won the first of his four Australian Open titles in 2004, and ascended to the No. 1 ranking soon after. He remained in top spot for 4 1/2 years. Hewitts ranking was projected to reach the low 40s with the win. He finished last season at No. 61 in another disrupted season after toe, foot, hand, hip and back injuries kept him off the tour for long periods between 2007 and the start of 2013. "Weve been through a rough four or five years, five different surgeries, its been tough," Hewitt said. Hewitt was the youngest qualifier ever for the Australian Open, aged 15 when he made the main draw in 1997, and won his first ATP title in Adelaide the following year at 16 -- the youngest winner in a decade on the ATP tour. He said coming back at double that age to win another Australian tournament was almost on par. "Obviously (the Adelaide title) is where it all started for me. I was 16. I was in my home town ... its hard to beat that," he said. "But then winning here at a new tournament ... Ive won nearly every tournament there is to win in Australia. "Yeah, to beat possibly the greatest player in the final means a lot. So its very hard to split them." Of his remote chance of being the first Australian since 1976 to win his home Open, Hewitt said the win over Federer "just gives me a lot more confidence going out there believing in how well Im hitting the ball at the moment and that I can matchup with the best guys." Federer, who didnt make a Grand Slam final last year for the first time since 2002 and is now ranked No. 6, said the Brisbane tournament gave him a good idea of how his preparations are going for the Australian Open. "I have a clear idea what I need to work on, and I have a clear idea where my mind and body is at," he said. "Im very hungry and eager to attack the Australian Open next week." Serena Williams retained her title in Brisbane on Saturday with a win over Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka. Venus Williams lost the Auckland final to Ana Ivanovic, and then withdrew from her scheduled appearance at the Hobart International this week. Sloane Stephens, who withdrew from the Hopman Cup with a left wrist problem, confirmed Sunday she was pulling out of the Sydney tournament in a bid to be ready for the seasons first major. And the Sydney tournament had its first upset Sunday when American Madison Keys beat seventh-seeded Simona Halep of Romania 6-1, 6-4. Third-seeded Sara Errani beat fellow Italian Roberta Vinci 6-4 6-2 in another first-round match. D.J. Humphries Jersey . Jamies number grades given are out of five, with five being the best mark. Berdych, an Australian Open semifinalist, dominated throughout as he cruised to a 6-3, 6-3, 6-0 victory for the defending champions in the first round matchup. Never facing a break point, the seventh-ranked Berdych broke Sijsling early in each set and secured one break in the first set, two in the second and three in the third before converting his first match point with a powerful forehand winner. "I tried to go on attack," Berdych said. "Im glad that I got rid of the fatigue (from the Australian Open). I felt really good on the court and played accordingly." Earlier, Robin Haase rallied to beat Radek Stepanek in five sets and give the Netherlands a 1-0 lead. The 46th-ranked Haase won the hard fought contest 3-6, 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-1 in 3 hours and 39 minutes on an indoor hard court at CEZ Arena. Berdych and Stepanek are expected to team up for Saturdays doubles, and could face Thiemo de Bakker and Jean-Julien Rojer. Haase broke Stepanek for a 3-1 lead in the final set and did the same in the sixth game beforre serving out, converting his first match-point with a forehand winner. Patrick Peterson Jersey. "I felt good," Haase said. "He had many break points but in the end I always played good. I served well and played some unbelievable points. Maybe I was a little bit more lucky in that today but Im happy, of course." Stepanek took advantage of only three of his 18 break-point opportunities while Haase posted 14 aces and hit 62 winners to Stepaneks 43. The winner of the best-of-five series will face either Canada or Japan in the quarterfinals in April. The 50th-ranked Stepanek took the first set after securing break points in the seventh and ninth games but allowed his 46th-ranked opponent to come back in the second set. Haase broke him in the ninth game with a precise passing forehand down the line. In the third set, Stepanek wasted four break points in the eighth game that would have had him serving for the set with a 5-3 lead. He also failed to convert three set points in the 12th game before prevailing in the tiebreak with his typical attacking play. However, Haase fought back again in the fourth, racing into a 3-0 lead before converting his second set point and then going on to seal the final set. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

After winning Sundays Heritage Classic game in Vancouver, there is a sense that perhaps the Senators can use that victory as a springboard down the stretch. Erik Gustafsson Jersey . One would think that winning one of the NHLs signature events – with 50,000 fans watching in the stadium and a larger-than-normal television audience – could propel this team onto a much-needed winning streak. But looking at the brief history of these events, there is hardly any connection between winning an outdoor game and any subsequent success in the NHL. A few years ago, the 2008 Penguins and the 2009 Red Wings each made it to the Stanley Cup Final in the same year after winning the Winter Classic game – although that was more likely the result of having a powerhouse lineup than anything to do with playing in an outdoor game. For the Senators, a better comparable would be to look at some of the less dominant teams that have won an outdoor game and how that affected them immediately afterwards. This season, for example, the Toronto Maple Leafs won the Winter Classic in Ann Arbor – but then turned around and lost their next four games. In 2011, the Calgary Flames beat the Montreal Canadiens 4-0 in the Heritage Classic at McMahon Stadium. The Flames ended up losing three of their next five games, so any momentum they gained from winning the outdoor game was non-existent. The same can be said for the 2003-04 Montreal Canadiens, who beat the Edmonton Oilers in the first-ever outdoor game at Commonwealth Stadium. The Habs managed to win only two of their next five games – although they did manage a pair of ties as well. This season, we even saw the Anaheim Ducks stumble after winning the outdoor game at Dodger Stadium against the Los Angeles Kings. The Ducks lost four of their next five games – marking their worst stretch of the regular season. The same thing happened to the 2010 Boston Bruins and the 2011 Washington Capitals – each team lost four of their next five games after winning the Winter Classic. So in many cases, it seems like teams suffer a letdown – rather than an uplift – following a big win in an outdoor game. Heres a look at how every team that has won an outdoor game fared in their next 5 games: 2003-04 Montreal Canadiens – Won Heritage Classic 4-3 at EdmontonNext 5 games: 2-1-2 record 2007-08 Pittsburgh Penguins – Won Winter Classic 2-1 at BuffaloNext 5 games: 4-1-0 record 2008-09 Detroit Red Wings – Won Winter Classic 6-4 at ChicagoNext 5 games: 4-1-0 record 2009-10 Boston Bruins– Won Winter Classic 2-1 at BostonNext 5 games: 1-4-0 record 2010-11 Washigton Capitals – Won Winter Classic 3-1 at PittsburghNext 5 games: 1-2-2 record 2010-11 Calgary Flames – Won Heritage Classic 4-0 at CalgaryNext 5 games: 2-2-1 record 2011-12 New York Rangers – Won Winter Classic 3-2 at PhiladelphiaNext 5 games: 4-1-0 record 2013-14 Toronto Maple Leafs – Won Winter Classic 3-1 at Ann ArborNext 5 games – 1-4-0 record 2013-14 Anaheim Ducks – Won Stadium Series 3-0 at Los AngelesNext 5 games – 1-4-0 record 2013-14 NY Rangers – Swept Stadium Series 7-3 (Devils) and 2-1 (Islanders) at New YorkNext 5 games: 4-1-0 record Artemi Panarin Jersey . PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Pirates agreed to terms with right-hander Kyle Farnsworth on a minor league deal Friday and assigned him to Triple-A Indianapolis. Brandon Graham Jersey . The 37-year-old Farnsworth was 2-0 with a 5.76 ERA in 39 relief appearances with Tampa Bay this season before being designated for assignment and released Aug. 9. Decimated by injuries and call ups to the affiliate Calgary Flames, Abbotsford lost its seventh straight contest on Saturday, falling to the Chicago Wolves 7-2 in American Hockey League action. "Its mid-March and we dont have our regular team, but every team goes through it," said Heat head coach Troy Ward. "Every family goes through difficult times. You just be patient, you continue to teach, you stick with the process. Right now, were really trying to survive and fight." Seven players who were with the Heat within the past two weeks dressed for the Flames Saturday in Vancouver. "Its been tough," said Heat alternate captain Carter Bancks. "Weve had guys going in and out of our lineup. But we cant make excuses. Weve got a lot of good guys here, a lot of really good hockey players." Chicago Wolves centre Pat Cannone made up for lost time Saturday night, scoring his first career hat trick in his second game back from injury. Cannone suffered a broken hand on Jan. 21. "It was pretty cool," said Cannone. "Ive been out for six weeks now so it was just nice to contribute and help out offensively. Getting some goals is always nice." After Abbotsford scored to make it a three-goal game, Cannone scored twice in 72 seconds late in the third period to complete the hat trick, which he said was his first "probably since squirts." The third-year pro now has 12 goals this season. Joe Corvo and Eric Selleck each scored their first goals as a member of the Wolves. Corvo was playing his first game since being waived by the Ottawa Senators and Selleck was acquired by the Wolves affiliate St. Louis Blues at the trade deadline. "He brings a lot of veteran leadership," said Cannone of the 36-year-old Corvo. "Hes been in the game for a while and is obviously a great player. It really helps out on the power play on the back end. It was a big goal for us." Adam Cracknell and Michael Davies also scored for Chicago (34-18-6). The Wolves are now on an 11-2-1 run, catapulting them past Abbotsford into fourth in the Western Conference. "We know we have a lot of skill so we if we add the element of hard work were pretty tough to beat," said Cannone. Jake Allen made 28 saves for the Wolves and has alllowed two goals or less for eight of his last 11 starts. Rodney McLeod Jersey. "We know we have a great goalie back there," said Cannone. "He keeps us in games every night." Ben Street and Brett Olson replied for Abbotsford (33-20-7). Olivier Roy stopped 28 of 33 shots before being replaced by Aaron Dell, who allowed two goals on eight shots in 11 minutes of relief. The Wolves jumped to a 2-0 lead with goals two minutes and 35 seconds apart in the first period. First Cracknell deflected Taylor Chorneys point shot for his ninth of the season at 11:14. Then, after a Heat defender was caught too deep in the Chicago zone, Shane Harper fed Davies, who split the scrambling defencemen and beat Roy glove side for his sixth of the campaign. The momentum switched the other way just 29 seconds into the second period. Olson was sent in alone by Kane Lafranchises long stretch pass and he beat Allen for his 11th. "They had a good push in the beginning of the second," said Cannone. "They got that quick goal to make it 2-1. We did a good job of responding. When we got it right back it was pretty big and important for us." The Wolves, however, re-established the two-goal lead when Corvo scored on the power play at 13:40. His wrist shot from the top of the circle beat Roy with Cracknell screening in front. Cannones made it 4-1 at 16:08. Just after killing off a penalty, Cannone and Tyler Shattock worked a give-and-go on a 3-on-2 rush, with the Bayport, N.Y., native firing the puck into the open side of the net. Allen made a few big stops to keep his club in the lead. In the second period he stopped Blair Jones power move and stacked the pads to turn away Evan Trupps rebound attempt. Then early in the third he made a glove save off Corey Locke in close. Selleck added to the onslaught at 8:34 of the third, driving hard to the net from the corner and lifting it over the sprawling netminder. Street temporarily stopped the bleeding, one-timing Derek Smiths pass past Allen at 10:45 for his 22nd of the year. At 13:28 Cannone scored the first of his two third-period goals and at 14:40 he completed the hat-trick. "It was a good game for us," said Cannone. "We knew they were a pretty tenacious team, so getting that first one was huge. We have a lot of guys with a lot of skill that can score, so we wanted to keep the pressure on them." Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

WASHINGTON -- Twice during their extra-inning game against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday night, the Washington Nationals appeared to have game-winning hits. D.J. Alexander Jersey . Twice, the Reds made outstanding catches. There would be no third chance as Todd Fraziers two-run homer in the 15th inning lifted the Reds over the Nationals 4-3. "All you can do is hit and sometimes you wish you could steer it after you hit it, but that doesnt happen," Nationals manager Matt Williams said after watching his team tie the game in the ninth and nearly win it in the 11th and 14th. First, Brandon Phillips robbed Wilson Ramos behind second base with a runner on third to end the 11th. Then in the 14th, Billy Hamilton got a great jump and made a diving grab in right centre of Anthony Rendons liner with a man on second. "I hit it good," Rendon said. "I knew it and I knew he had a chance of catching it, but I was hoping it might die and it didnt die." Phillips singled off Ross Detwiler (0-2) to open the 15th and with one out, Frazier homered to centre. "I (wanted) to drive something. I had two good at-bats before that. Its crazy how the game goes," Frazier said. "Youre 0 for 3 and then you get three more at-bats in extra innings and you go 3 for 3. So its like a whole new game and I got a ball up, elevated and tried to drive it." The home run also ended a 27 2-3 innings scoreless streak by the Nationals bullpen. "Bad execution, bad pitch selection, pretty much bad all the way around," Detwiler said Logan Ondrusek (1-2) worked two innings for the win, allowing an RBI single to Greg Dobbs in the bottom of the 15th before getting Danny Espinosa to fly out to deep right to end the 4-hour, 58-minute game. Washington trailed 2-1 when Espinosa doubled to left off Aroldis Chapman to start the ninth. He advanced to third on a fly to deep left-centre by Kevin Frandsen and scored on pinch-hitter Scott Hairstons fly to deep left. That rally cost Reds starter Mike Leake his first win since April 15. Monday night was the first meeting between Leake and Stephen Strasburg, youth league teammates in San Diego and 2009 first-round draft choices, with Strasburg going first overall and Leake eighth. Strasburg went seven innings, allowing two runs and six hits. He walked only one, but hit two batters, both of whom scored. Both teams had their share of chances. The Reds were 2 for 24 with runners in scoring position, and the Nationals were 2 for 18. The Reds were without first baseman Joey Votto (strained left quadriceps), who is rehabbing in Cincinnati, for the fourth straight game. Trailing 2-0, Washington finally got to Leake in the seventh. Nate McLouth singled with one out and took second on a wild pitch. With two outs, Denard Span singled to right, scoring McLouth and ending Leakes night after 110 pitches. The Reds used their legs to take a 1-0 lead in the fourth. Frazier was hit by a pitch with one out and went to third on Brayan Penas single. With Chris Heisey at the plate, Ramos blocked a pitch by Strasburg in the dirt and Pena broke for second. Frazier dashed home when Ramos threw to second and second baseman Espinosas only play was on Pena, who was tagged out in a rundown. The Reds made it 2-0 in the fifth. Zack Cozart was hit on the arm by a fastball by Strasburg. On a hit-and-run play, Hamilton singled him to third and Cozart scored on a single to centre by Skip Schumaker. NOTES: Williams said rookie RHP Blake Treinen will be called up from Triple-A Syracuse to make LHP Gio Gonzalezs scheduled start Thursday in Pittsburgh. Gonzalez (left shoulder inflammation) went on the 15-day DL Sunday. Treinen has made four appearances, including one start, for Washington. ... Williams said 1B Adam LaRoche (right quad strain) took pregame grounders for the first time since going on the DL on May 10. . Cincinnatis Jonny Cueto (4-2, 1.25) opposes Doug Fister (0-1, 4.76) on Tuesday. Frank Clark Jersey ." One game is checked off, 15 remain and the next one to get crossed out could come Tuesday night when the defending champion Heat host the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference playoff series. Mark Glowinski Jersey . LOUIS -- Joe Thornton and the San Jose Sharks won the matchup of unbeaten teams.OAKLAND, Calif. - Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob says the team is pushing back plans to build an arena on the San Francisco waterfront at least one year. Lacob confirmed recent reports that opening the arena by the original 2017 target date is no longer possible during an interview Tuesday on the teams radio affiliate. Instead, Lacob told KNBR-680 that the Warriors are "planning on full steam ahead in 18." The Warriors have faced mounting costs and opposition for an arena on a dilapidated pier near the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge since they announced their intentions during an elaborate news conference on May 22, 2012. Marshawn Lynch Jersey. . The project also might need voter approval because it exceeds current waterfront height restrictions. The Warriors played in San Francisco from 1962 to 1971 after moving from Philadelphia. The team has played across the bay in Oakland since. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
